3A Boys 4x100 Relay

Yoakum entered with the top time, but that didn't really mean a lot as every team ran within .82 of each other coming out of the regional championships.

That compelling drama sparked a bit of electricity right before the race.

At the first exhange, it looked as if Yaokum and Hitchcock were out to the fast start and handed-off the batons first. on the second carry, Gunter pulled into the conversation. However, at last exchange it was a barrage of 4x100 meter relay anchor legs all getting the baton simultaneously. That set up

The final baton carriers from Yoakum and Hallettsville reigned supreme and pulled away from the rest to times of 41.81 and 41.87. Troup's anchor leg gae a valiant final 40-meters to pull up in 41.95 for third place.

3A Boys 4x200 Relay

In lane four, Wall had the fastest regional performance with a 1:27.61 and Brock was a close second out in lane nine with a 1:27.70 coming in.

Coming off the turn and into the first exchange, it was was Yoakum and Gunter looking strong and heading into the first exchange.

Not much changed through the second exchange, but things began to get thick heading into the final handoff.

It was HitchcockHallettsville, and Yoakum making things interesting. However, the final exchange was as good as anyone could ask for with just about everyone in the race.

Coming off the final turn, they were almost five as things were just about even.

Halletsville slung off the turn in lane one and pressed through the homestretch for the win to hold off a hard charging Yoakum anchor leg. Wall hung on for third.

UIL 3A Boys 4x400 Relay

Muleshoe brought the top regional time to Austin with their 3:19.60 regional run. However, there were four other teams within two seconds coming in.

Muleshoe put a strong leg on lead ofg to get them in good position and he did just that has he handed off evenly with Gunter.

The two were quickly joined by Randolph on the backstretch with Wall running with reckless abandon on third to take a short lived lead.

Gunter would get the second exchange first with Wall but Randolph changed that before the 200m mark of the second carry.

The final exchange was close between the them all.

On the final carry, Gunter and Randolph were humming on the final turn, but it was the 400m bronze medalist Daniel Sianez on anchor for Muleshoe and he was too fast and too strong for everyone else.
