We have a new state leader in the girls triple jump and her name is Sierra Brabham-Lawrence of Harrisburg! The senior is starting to regain her strength after weeks on the sideline with injury. Brabham-Lawrence took home the triple jump win in a state leading 38-5.25, one inch better than former state leader Uchechi Onuoha of Pennsbury. She then followed that up with an 8.6 win in the 60 meter hurdles. Teammate Ty'Asia Dansbury ran a big 24.6 to win the 200 meter dash, and the two of them joined forces to help their 4x400 meter relay team run 4:00.4 for the win and the PA#3 spot! The meet also saw the return of Shannon Quinn of Trinity (3). The star 800 meter runner made the most of her one opportunity to make the state meet with a big PA#5 time of 2:14.6, a full three seconds ahead of Natasha Fedkina of State College. Erika Voyzey of Tyrone Area has been the model of consistency this season, and on this night, she cleared 5-8 in the high jump for the 4th time this season in the same building! Megan Fry of State College cleared a season best 11-7 to win the pole vault. Nicole Leonzo of Harrisburg Christian won the 60 meter dash (7.8) and the 400 meter dash (59.7). Abby Yourkavitch of Chambersburg won the mile (5:21.7) and 3000 meter runs (10:46.1). For the boys, Charles Bowman Jr of Central Dauphin East continued his dominance in the hurdles while showing off his range of ability in other events. Bowman Jr won the 60 meter hurdles in 8.1, and then he followed that up with a win in the 400 meter dash in 49.5, the 5th sub 50 performance this season. He was also a member of the 4x200 meter relay team that ran 1:30.5 to hold off State College. Norristown also had a big night, as Andrew Dillon won the 200 meter dash in 21.9 and was part of the 4x4 that held off Altoona for the win 3:25.6 to 3:26.1. Altoona did have a 1-2 finish in the 800 meter run, as Brad Foust (1:56.5) and Brett George (1:58.9) ran season best times. Girls Highlights

 DVGTCA Meet of Champions
On a night that produces an incredible 147 state qualifying guideline marks, one individual rose above the rest in primetime! Fans at the DVGTCA Meet of Champions last night saw freshman Gabby Wilkinson of Friends Central at her best. Wilkinson started the night with a dual against Olivia Sargent of Pennsbury in the 1200 meter leg of the distance medley relay. In the final two laps, Wilkinson started to pull away from Sargent and gave her team the lead after the first leg with a 3:35 split. Her team would go on to win in a NEW state leading and US#12 12:20.29! Later on, Wilkinson matched up with the reigning AAA outdoor 800 meter champion Maddie Villalba of Central Bucks West and Sargent in the open 800. Wilkinson and Villalba went tooth and nail for all 4 laps, with neither runner willing to concede the title. But Wilkinson showed everyone just how talented she is by holding off the outdoor champion on the way to victory in a meet record, PA#2, and US#7 2:12.23! Villalba earned a PA#3 and US#8 time of 2:12.62 for 2nd. 3rd place went to junior Mikayla Schneider of Notre Dame, who ran a PA#4 and US#9 2:13.05, a lifetime personal best by over 4 seconds! All three broke the old meet record of 2:13.36 set by Emma Keenan of Gwynedd-Mercy Academy back in 2012! The other big story from the night came in the 60 meter dash. The tide may be changing in the team title race thanks to Dasia Pressley of Pennsbury defeating Chanel Brissett of Cheltenham by a margin of .04 seconds, 7.57 to 7.61. Pressley moved up to PA#3, .02 behind Brissett's seasonal best of 7.55. But the victory may have a big impact as we head to the state meet next weekend! Pressley was not as lucky in the 200 meter dash, as former US#1 Maia Dendy of Padua (DE) won the 200 in 24.86 to Pressley's 25.00. In the 60 meter hurdles, Ciara Leonard of Cheltenham continued her dominance and kept her state undefeated streak alive, running 8.48 to run her 2nd best time of the season and stay at US#3! Her teammate Alexis Crosby came from behind in the 400 meter dash to surpass Katie Arbogast of Penncrest for the gold 58.91 to 58.94. Cheltenham then ended the night with a comfortable victory in the 4x400 meter relay with the fastest flat track time in the state, 4:00.14. In the mile, Brooke Hutton of Coatesville made a strong challenge against a veteran field, only for the 2:11 800 meter speed of Karli Visconto overcame the freshman's determination to steal an upset. The Nazareth Academy senior was victorious in 5:08.01 to record a season best. In the field events, Alison Jones of Archbishop Ryan set a lifetime best in the long jump with a PA#4 mark of 18-2 to equal Ariana Przybylowski of Pennridge. Jones won the gold medal on the 2nd best jump tiebreaker. The triple jump went to former triple jump state leader and reigning state champion Uchechi Onuoha of Pennsbury, who jumped 37-10.25 to cruise to the win. Victoria Matthews of Abington cleared 5-5 for the 2nd time in as many weeks to win the high jump. Dominique Franco of Council Rock South equaled the 11-6 clearance of Kelly Muschiatti of Padua, while Nina Gambacorta of Garnet Valley threw 41-6.25 to win the shot put. Girls Highlights

 TFCAofGP 50th Meet of Champions R
The boys at the TFCAofGP Meet of Champions attempted to beat the clock and the upcoming snow storm as they looked to extend their season by a week. The sense of urgency was present, as 99 state qualifying guidelines were met at the 50th Meet of Champions! The meet produced a trio of state leaders. The first state leader came from reigning national distance medley relay champions Cardinal O'Hara. At this meet last season, O'Hara won the distance medley relay on their way to the national title. Today, they repeated the first step in dominating fashion, winning the DMR by 20 seconds and taking the top spot in the state at the expense of St Joe's Prep with a US#9 10:28.82! The other two state leaders came from the straightaway events. The 60 meter hurdles were dominated by the Upper Darby Royals duo of Mason Weh and Akeim Thomas. Thomas led the prelim qualifiers in 8.09, while Weh ran 8.24 to finish 2nd in those prelims. In the finals, the two of them were lined up next to each other and they finished 1-2 in the final, with Weh claiming the new state lead with a time of 8.02, while Thomas repeated his 8.09 performance to share the PA#2 mark. That act was going to be tough to follow, and Christian Brissett of Cheltenham and Charles Headen of Lasalle did their absolute best to try and top the hurdlers. The top two in the state at 60 meters finally had the chance to go head to head in a big meet. Headen started as the top in the state, but Brissett finished the day as the state leader, defeating Headen by the slim .01 second margin, 6.88 to 6.89! Next week's rematch should be spectacular! Cheltenham still had more fireworks to come at the end of the meet, as their national leading 4x400 meter relay set a new meet of champs record with a winning time of 3:23.41, breaking the record set by Norristown way back in 1973 (3:23.60)! Andrew Dillon of Norristown did what no one has been able to do for the past two indoor seasons; beat John Lewis of Cheltenham in an open 400. The senior emerged as the winner of the 400 meter dash in a season best 50.19! The 800 meter run saw Billy McDevitt of Malvern Prep hold off Alek Sauer of Pennsbury to claim the gold medal 1:55.16 to 1:55.70. Sauer's teammate Sam Webb did earn a victory in the mile run with a time of 4:22.71. John Daly of St Joe's Prep set a big personal best in the 3000 meter run with a winning time of 8:58.66. In the field events, Reggie Harris of The Haverford School earned another victory in the triple jump with a winning mark of 45-9.25. The long jump title went to Saahir Bethea of Cheltenham, who survived by a half inch over Joe Adighibe of Perkiomen Valley 22-1 to 22-0.50. The win could be huge for Bethea as he approaches the state meet. The shot put saw two seasonal best marks from the two best throwers in Eastern Pa. Milton Jones of Glen Mills just missed the 54 foot mark on his way to victory in 53-11, while Kieran Moore of Upper Dublin had a big seasonal best performance of 53-9.25 to finish 2nd. Chris Stone of Springfield Montco earned two big victories that could prove to be crucial to his defense of his two state titles. Stone cleared 6-6 to win the high jump by 5 inches and then he followed that up with a pole vault victory in 14-3. Boys Highlights

 TSTCA Indoor Track & Field Championship
The qualifiers for Saturday's Tri-State Coaches championship didn't include anybody named Pandora, but "she" definitely had a major impact on the meet at Edinboro University. The latest winter storm of 2015, Pandora rolled into western Pennsylvania early Saturday and dropped a quick and thick covering of snow that made some teams stay at home and meet officials delay the event's start. The travel conditions were less than ideal, but the performances were top notch, especially in the girls' mile and boys' shot put. Madeleine Davison of North Allegheny and Kelsey Potts of Mt. Lebanon got to the finish line with different strategies, but both juniors went under 5 minutes in climbing up the state and national top 10s in the mile. Currently US#1 in the 3,000 meters, Davison raced to the front and was clocked in about 70 seconds for the opening quarter, while Potts was several seconds behind in second. The cushion stayed fairly consistent until the final stages when Potts looked to be closing. Davison gathered herself and, in her first competitive mile since finishing third in the 2014 New Balance Outdoor Nationals, finished in a PA#3 and US#6 time of 4 minutes, 53.26 seconds. Potts is now PA#4 and US#12 after a 4:56.32. Davison came back in the 3,000, providing some pacing for WPIAL (District 7) colleague Lauren Gronbeck of Eden Christian Academy. Davison was the winner in 10:15.91, while Gronbeck is now PA#5 with a 10:16.54. As has been the norm this season, Jordan Geist of Knoch was all by himself at the top of the shot put standings. Opening at 61 feet, 9 inches, the sophomore did nothing but improve in winning the event by more than 12 feet. Speaking to his great successes thus far this season, Geist's shortest put of the day has been exceeded by only four others nationally in 2015. Meanwhile, his longest Saturday at Edinboro has only been bettered by national leader Willie Morrison of Kansas. After a foul in round 2, the Knight standout hit 64-2. His first throw in the finals was his best of the day at 64-6, and Geist wrapped things up with a 62-6 effort and a foul. State leader Isaiah Brooks of Woodland Hills won both horizontal jumps. Also top 10 nationally in both events, Brooks covered 21-4 to win the long jump and 44-6 in the triple jump. South Fayette's Mitch Valko matched his season best and PA#2 time of 8.09 in winning the 60 hurdles, while Freedom Area's Brenton Harrison is now tied PA#7 in the high jump after winning at 6-3. Kevin Garbark of West Mifflin claims PA#4 and PA#10 in the sprints. The senior went 7.03 in the 60 prelims before winning in 7.07, and then Garbark won the 200 in 22.67. North Allegheny's Matt McGoey claimed a competitive 3,000 with a PA#5 8:46.36, while Will Loevner of Winchester Thurston was second in 8:50.28 and NA classmate Hunter Wharrey ran 8:54.71. In the 4x200, West Mifflin replaced Altoona as PA#9 with a 1:32.04 to Altoona's 1:32.66 in second. Two of the top pole vaulters in the state this year battled again at Edinboro. Hempfield Area's Hayden Fox cleared 14-4 to best the same effort from Caleb Sanford of McDowell. In the girls' triple jump, Olivia Rowe of Oakland Catholic won with a PA#7 36-9.25, while Villa Maria won the distance medley in a PA#7 12:31.16 before placing four in the top seven of the 800 as Claire Brown (2:18.83) and Grace Trucilla (2:19.54) were the top two. Julia Howard of Greensburg Salem won the long jump at 17-8.5, while Riley Leisman of Canon-McMillan was a 26.08 champion in the 200. Girls Highlights
