Henderson

WHAT A SPECTACLE! The 10th Annual Henderson Invitational presented by Nike was absolutely sensational! Top performances from the first gun to the last with races and individual performances that will stay in the memory of fans for years to come.

The first thing that will come to most athletes minds from this meet is the boys 3200 meter run. The field featured an all-star cast of PA's top distance stars from the 2014-15 running year and they all were in top form at the same time.

Overall, 10 runners broke 9:20, 8 runners broke 9:10, 5 runners broke 9:05 and one athlete broke 9 minutes. That man was Jake Brophy of Central Bucks East, who emerged victorious after a flurry of lead changes, surges, and loud roars from the crowd. Brophy broke away from the aggressive Paul Power in the final 300 meters to be crowned the champion in a US#15 time of 8:57.68!

Runner up honors went to Andrew Marston of Conestoga in 9:01.25, followed by the US#2 sophomore at 3200 meters, Nick Dahl of Germantown Friends (9:02.51). Casey Comber of Hatboro Horsham ran 9:04.04 for 5th. Sam Webb of Pennsbury, Dominic Hockenbury of Lake Lehman, and Paul Power of Spring Ford all dipped under 9:10.

Before Brophy and friends stole the show, the headline performer of the meet would have gone to Billy McDevitt of Malvern Prep, who took advantage of the front running of Penn Relays star Alek Sauer of Pennsbury to come away victorious in a NEW STATE LEADING and US#7 1:51.47! Sauer finished 3rd in 1:52.77 for PA#4 honors.

Kornelius Klah of Pennsbury was the hurdle king on Friday night, taking home both hurdle events in dazzling fashion. He won the high hurdles in a state leading 14.27 and the intermediate hurdles in 39.24. Nkosi Pile of Church Farm swept the 100 (10.85) and 200 meter dashes (22.20).
