Gatorade announced that John Lewis of Cheltenham is the 2015 recipient of the Gatorade Boys Athlete of the Year for Pennsylvania!
Lewis had an excellent senior year. He won the state title in the 800 meter run with a then new state record time of 1:48.72. He also won the New Balance Outdoor National title with an improved all time state best of 1:48.33!
Outside of his 800 meter success, Lewis had the fastest time in the state in the 400 meter dash (47.92). He also has the fastest time in the 400 meter hurdles (52.46).
Lewis was a member of the Cheltenham 4x400 meter relay team that won indoor national championship gold, won the outdoor state title, and finished 5th in the 4x400 meter relay at the Penn Relays Championship of America race!
