PTXC Performers of the Week: XC Week 6

This week, we will go with co-athletes of the week!

The first recipient this week is Abbe Goldstein of Germanton Academy. The junior recorded the best PA finish at the Manhattan Invitational on Saturday, finishing 2nd in the Varsity C race in 14:48.8. It is her 3rd top five finish of the season!


The other winner goes to Aislinn Devlin of Downingtown West, who successfully defended her Ches-Mont league championship with a new state leading time of 17:48. It is her 2nd big win of the season and she is now one of two sub 18 minute runners in the state!


Team

Once again, Pennsbury wins the team of the week award after finishing 2nd at the Manhattan Invitational Eastern States race, trailing the national champions Fayetteville-Manlius. They had six runners in the top 50 overall with three in the top 25. It's their 3rd time winning the award this season. They also cruised in the JV B race, going 1-2-3-5-9 with three sophomores and two freshmen to score an incredible 20 points to win by 34!

Josh Hoey wins this week's award after leading his Downingtown West team to two big victories in under 48 hours. Josh finished 8th in the Eastern States race at Manhattan in 12:28 to help his team win that title, and then on Monday, he won the Ches-Mont league title in 16:02 to lead a rotated squad to a successful defense of their league championship!


Team

To little surprise, Downingtown West wins this week's award after winning the Manhattan Eastern States race and the Ches-Mont league title in 2 days. They earned a narrow 15 point win at the Eastern States race with 177 points. They later switched out three varsity runners and scored 39 points with a 47 second spread to keep the Ches-Mont title.
