TFCAofGP Indoor Meet #8

DIVISION I

RELAYS: based on seed times, the 4x200 will be a good race between Upper Darby, Methacton, and Upper Dublin. The 4x400 has the potential to be a fast race. Pennridge, Upper Dublin, LaSalle, and Coatesville may be loading up teams to make that an exciting duel between some likely state qualifiers and some bubble teams. And then in the 4x800, LaSalle, CB East and St. Joseph's Prep appear to be the top teams looking to improve their chances of a state berth. In the DMR, CB West, who has already popped off a fast 4x800 may look to see what they can do in a DM with Council Rock South lurking in that race.

SPRINTS/HURDLES: The 60m dash will pit a handful of potential medal contenders at states against each other. LaSalle's Chalres Headen, Upper Darby's Gianni Lawrence, North Penn's Mason Nadeau, and Central Collin Washington will all be looking to improve their state prospects in what should be an exciting race. Souderton's Colin Harker will be the favorite in the 60m hurdles. We haven't sen much from Harker after a solid early season, so it will be interesting to see how he fares. In the 200, Haverford's Justin Moscoe will square off with St. Joseph's D'Andre Swift and Methacton's Nick Shaffer. North Penn's Nadeau is also in a fast field. In the 400 meters, Neshaminy's Sean Conway, having a stellar season thus far, will look to for a strong race.

DISTANCE: More Jake Brophy! The CB East senior will return after a nice open debut at Poreda last week. He'll toe the line in the 3000. Brophy doesn't know exactly what his states plans will be (it's hingeing on his relay responsibilities), but it looks like he'll try and get in a fast 3000 to give himself options. Interestingly enough, he'll be going against Pennridge's Tucker Desko. Desko has run great at 800 meters and the mile, but he'll bump up in distance. Owen J. Roberts' Liam Conway and Downingtown West's Ben Ryherd fill out what will likely be a very exciting 15 laps. The mile will be very competitive this weekend. Neshaminy's Rusty Kujdych leads a field that also includes Souderton's Connor McMenamin, CB South's Matthew Scarpill, Haverford's James Abrahams. Kujdych already has a PA#2 3000 meter race to his resume and he'll look to get in a fast mile against some good competition.

FIELD: The high jump will be the event to watch in the field. PA#4s Eric Wacker of Pennsbury and Darnell Randall of Perkiomen Valley will face off with PA#6s Coatesville's Dondre Pittman and Pennridge's Matt Moyer. After a few breakout performances from more western high jumpers (Meadville's AJ Byham and Shamokin's Chris Petraskie), this quartet will look to answer. In the long jump, Downingtown West's James Holt, William Tennent's Stephen Testa, St. Joseph's Prep's Isaiah Richie, and Pennsbury's Devon Beale will all look to improve their state standings. It's East vs. West in the triple jump. CB East's Alex Parasky and CB West's Erik Metz enter as the top two seeds in the event. keep an eye out for Upper Dublin's Brian Kaufmann, too.

DIVISION II

RELAYS: A week after a great showing at Ocean Breeze, Glen Mills returns, looking for more in the 4x400. It appears Cardinal O'Hara will either go after a 4x800 or DMR. In the DMR, they'll get a good race from Msgr. Bonner & Abp Prendergast. Bonner-Prendie is PA#13 right now, but that came back in late December at Burdette, so they'll have a real chance to drop a fast relay Saturday.

SPRINTS/HURDLES: In the 60 meters, Bishop Shananan's Keegan Hughes leads a nice field of runners looking to make a bid for state qualification. Hughes is also entered in the 200 meters. Archbishop Ryan's Monte Guess and Springfield (Delco)'s Ache Hall will square off in the 60 meter hurdles. Guess is at PA#3 in the event, while Hall sits at PA#6. The top seed in the 400 meters will be Glen Mills' Keon Rantin (PA#2 200m).

DISTANCE: Ryan James of O'Hara is entered in the mile. His teammate Rob Morro won last weekend at Glen Mills, so the team will look to go back-to-back. Bishop Shananan's Logan Yoquinto is also in the field with good potential to drop a fast race. The 3000 meters will be a battle between Strath Haven's Ian Reid and Lower Merion's Matthew D'Aquila.

FIELD: Holy Ghost's Eric Kasperowicz, who had steadily improved throughout the season, will come in favored in the shot put.
