After a busy weekend, why not cap it off with a big Monday night? That was the thought of a few PA teams that took to The Armory in New York for the NJ Varsity Classic (keep in mind, all times were hand-timed)

Highlighting the night was something we started to think we might not see this indoor season: a Downingtown West DMR. The boys dropped a PA#1 by over 15 seconds with a huge 10:16.30 to edge out Christian Brothers Academy of New Jersey for the win. That's a US#2 for West, who sits just behind Concord Carlisle from MA. West Chester Henderson ended up seventh in the DMR, but still ran a PA#3 10:36.90. Holy Ghost Prep ran a PA#10:44.50 for eighth place.

The Downingtown West girls also took down the top time in the state in the DMR, finishing third in a 12:11, putting 13 seconds between them and PA#2 North Penn.

In the girls 1600m, Pennsbury's Hannah Molloy took the win in 5:06 in a nice PA field. Emily Bracken of Bishop Shanahan was second in 5:11.20, Cheltenham's MaryGrace Rittler third in 5:12.10, Villa Maria Claire Brown fourth in 5:13.80, and Downigntown West's Emma Planck fifth in 5:15.40.

Villa Maria's Brown also ran a 2:16.90 for second in the 800. Pleasant Valley's Jenn Mickens was fourth in 2:18.40.

The 200 meters was a Cheltenham romp. Chanel Brissett took the win (24.94), Alexis Crosby was second (25.34), and Bria Barnes was fourth (25.64). Madison Langely-Walker continued a strong night for the Panthers, winning the 55m hurdles in 8.34.

The Cheltenham girls 4x400 also ran a PA#2, clocking a 3:57.60.

Pennsbury's Mary Webb got into a fast 3200 race with Haddonfield (NJ)'s Briana Gess. Gess took the win in 10:40, but Webb was second in a PA#1 10:48.20, a very solid time for the junior.

One of the days breakout performers was Downingtown West's Stacey Wolverton, clearing a big PR in the high jump at 5-6 for a PA#2. Wolverton, a senior, cleared 5-4 outdoors as a sophomore, but this is a season best by 4 inches for her.

In the shot put, Cheltenham's Ashley Alexander threw over the 40 foot mark for the first time this season with a 40-1.25 for third place and a new PA#7.

Dominic Hockenbury of Lake Lehman made a big statement Monday night, running away from the field to win the 3200m easily in 9:12, which converts to about a 8:35 3000. Also in the field was Conestoga's PJ Murray, who placed third in 9:45.10.

Henry Sappey of Downingtown West was second in the 1600 meters, running a 4:27.80. Quakertown's Hudson Delisle took third in 4:30.00, while West Chester Henderson Spencer Smucker was fifth in 4:30.40.

Downingtown West's Josh McLemore won the 200 in a 21.84. The West 4x400 did some damage in the 4x400, too, winning in a 3:23.00.

In the triple jump, Bensalem's Caleb Appiah-Owusu matched his season best PA#4 in the event, jumping a 44-10.75.
