Boys' 4x800 meter relay

If you thought you had an idea of how the 4x800 would play
out at states, the boys from State College probably changed those thoughts last
weekend, dropping a huge PA#1 of 7:51.59 to win the event at the Millrose
Games. It was a huge statement to the rest of the state.
Afterwards, the State College four talked about the state meet record (7:45.06 by CB West in 2011). It'll take the right race, but the boys believe they have a shot at it. But their first goal needs to be winning, which certainly is no forgone conclusion.

Germantown Friends has decided that they'll forgo any individual prizes in favor of focusing on their two distance relays. The first of which is the 4x800, so they'll have plenty of motivation to keep pace with State College. Led by a dynamic duo of Nick Dahl and Grayson Hepp, GFS will not go down without a fight in the day's first event.
After the top two (the only sub-8 minute seeds), less than three seconds separates seeds three through seven. Abington will bring a fast team with their tremendous depth, and they'll be up there challenging State College and GFS. Penn Wood has dropped a few very solid 4x800s this season. Their familiarity with the big stage will help them.
Central Bucks West is another team that is focusing exclusively on relays, so the Bucks will have extra incentive to hang up front. Central Bucks East, likely to be led by Jake Brophy, will be in it, too. Bishop Shanahan will be in the field as well, looking to build off a breakthrough race at Yale.
State College may have made themselves the favorites, but there are a whole mess of teams shooting for the top.
