AA (Thursday, 5/20): McConnellsburg's McKenzie Gelvin was certainly busy at the District 5 Championship on Thursday (rescheduled from Wednesday). The junior won the district title in the 400 and 800 and placed second in the 100 meters. For good measure, she added a fifth place in the long jump. Her 400 time of 57.04 is a PR and puts her at PA AA #4.
Bedford's August Cook continued his remarkable season in the javelin. He moved himself up to PA#2 (first in AA) with a toss of 209-8 for the big win. Cook will be one to watch next week at states in what should be a good battle in the jav with Richland's Ethan Dabbs.
In the triple jump, Everett's Stephanie Ketterman jumped 36-0 for the win.
