AA RESULTS

Erika Voyzey of Tyrone Area continued her stellar senior season, clearing 5-10 in the high jump for the easy win. That's her second best clearance of the season next to her 5-11 dual meet result. Voyzey is ready to go for her third straight AA state title next week.

In a great battle in the girls' javelin, Penn Cambria's Jadyn Tiracave came out on top with a throw of 140-1 to beat Marian Center's Hanna Beer (137-0) and Central Cambria's Michelle Hildebrand (135-3).

Marion Center's Taya Whitfield won a close one with Paige Wess of Central Cambria in the 1600. Whitfield edged her out, running 5:09.35 to Wess' 5:09.48.

United's Michaela Bracken stayed undefeated on the season in the 300 hurdles, winning in 45.48, just off her season best in the event.

Richland's Ethan Dabbs won the javelin with a throw of 189-11.

AAA RESULTS

State College Area cleaned up on both the girls' and boys' side at the District 6 AAA Champs on Thursday.

Griffin Thompson of State College made his case for the best pole vaulter in PA, jetting to the top of the state rankings clearing 15-10 for the win. Thompson continues to improve and the boys' pole vault will be one of the most exciting events to look forward to at Ship.

The PA#1 boys 4x800 from State College coasted to the win in 8:20.25 to get the job done, punching its ticket to Ship next week.

Alex Milligan, also of State College, took home a pair of wins. Milligan was first in both the 1600 (4:16.80) and 800 (1:55.10). His teammate Nick Feffer took second in the 1600 in a time of 4:21.06, while fellow State College runner Anthony Degleris was runner-up in the 800 in 1:55.95. Feffer also took third in the 800 in 1:57.31.

State College's Erik Ebel won both the javelin (182-0) and discus (156-3). Kellin Valentine from (you guessed it) State College was the district champion in both the long (22-6.5) and triple jumps (44-3).

Veronika Karpenko, Rachel Wylie, and Natasha Fedkina (all from State College) each picked up a pair of district titles.

Karpenko won the triple and long jumps. She jumped 38-1.75 in the triple, and 18-3 in the long. Neither are season bests, but Karpenko will certainly be one of the AAA favorites headed into next week's state championship at Ship. In the long jump, State College's Taylor Givens took second with a jump of 17-11.5. Hollidaysburg's Darcie Frazier was third with a jump of 17-8.75.

Wylie claimed district titles in the hurdles. In the 100 hurdles, Wylie ran a PR of 14.79, and in the 300 hurdles, she won in 44.95. Fedkina did a distance double, winning in the 800 (2:17.69) and the 1600 (5:04.11).

State College's Jackie Horner edged out Mifflin County's Skylar Ciccolini in the javelin. Horner threw 127-8 to Ciccolini's 126-4 for the win.

State College also went 1-2 in the pole vault. Kinsey Thompson cleared 12-0 for the win and Lyndsey Reed cleared 11-6 to take second.
