Knoch is gunning for the record books once again. The state record holder is
the odds-on favorite to capture another state title this weekend as all eyes
will be on the junior thrower. He's thrown over 73 feet this season and with a
decent day, Geist should move past Ryan Whiting for the PIAA meet record, which
stands at 70-00. The only question that remains is how far will Jordan throw?
After Geist, Greensburg Salem's Lawson Monta has had a great senior season and will look to end it on a high note. Monta, who was fourth in 2015, eclipsed the 60-foot mark at his WPIAL qualifier and is in a good spot for a good finish this year.
Saint Marys Area's Tom Bojalad has thrown 58-2 this season, while Manheim Central's Tyler Hoag has thrown 57-10.75. Those two, along with Hempfield's Dom Marshall and Chambersburg's Kelton Chastulik will also be gunning for good podium places.
