We are spending the next month or so counting down the top 20 moments of the 2015-2016 year in Pennsylvania track and field and cross country. Last time, we brought you the epic show put on by the pole vaulters at outdoor states. Today, we go back to last fall when AA saw a couple of repeat champs in XC.

--------

There wasn't any change in 2015 as far as individual AA state champions were concerned. But both Lake Lehman's Dominic Hockenbury and Dallas' Ally Rome came about their repeat titles in much different fashion.

For Hockenbury, it was mostly a solo effort, while Rome faced a tough test from a district rival. Regardless, it was a District 2 domination in AA this past fall.

Hockenbury took out the AA race hard and held off some late charges from the likes of Zach Skolnekovich of Quaker Valley and Matt Kravitz of North Pocono. It was a happy ending for the Syracuse-bound senior, who also broke 16 on the Hershey course, a longtime goal of his. Read the full race recap HERE and a feature on Hockenbury's race HERE.

The Lake Lehman senior went on to win his third straight AA 3200 meter title in outdoor track. Watch highlights from the AA boys race below:

Rome faced a challenge the entire way. After holding off teammate Lindsey Oremus in 2014, it was Scranton Prep's Erin Feeney that provided the challenge in 2015. The two were step-for-step through two miles, but Rome pulled away late to take the win in 18:30---14 seconds faster than the previous season.

AA will get new individual champions in 2016 as both Hockenbury (Syracuse) and Rome (Princeton) will head to run at the collegiate level, but their dominance within their classification won't be forgotten for a while.
