Jordan Geist Decides on a College

Jordan Geist has been to the East and West coasts and many places in between over the past two years, establishing himself as one of the finest high school shot putters of all time.

This afternoon, the Knoch senior decided he will be headed southwest for the next four years, verbally committing to the University of Arizona.

"I want to be a professional shot put thrower after college," Geist said of his career goal and deciding factor in the college selection process. "At the end of the day, I think U of A just felt the best out of all five schools."

Geist hit the recruiting trail last month at Mississippi and then visited Kentucky, Arizona State, Arizona and finally Indiana on Friday and Saturday.

Heading into his senior year, the right-hander's PR of 74 feet, 4.5 inches is US#6 AT outdoors. His indoor best is US#3 AT.
