Yes, Thelma Davies is back.
The Girard College High School sophomore who burst onto the scene last winter, setting a national freshman record, and then breaking an outdoor state meet record, returned to the track for the first time this year (with the exception of an unofficial race at the Burdette Classic).
Davies wasted little time returning to the forefront of the sprint conversation in PA. Davies absolutely dominated fields in both the 55 meters and 200 meters.
The 55 meter time (6.95) is .10 off her PR, but her 24.39 in the 200 meters is a nice PR is the event for Davies. She mentioned in her interview that she used the 200 to train for the 55/60 meters, but nonetheless, she proved on Saturday that she will be a major factor in the event come states.
