Boys' 4x400-Meter Relay Preview
Three teams come into the final event of the state meet with season bests in the 3:23 range. This could set up a great finish.
Leading the way is Bishop Shanahan. They clocked a 3:23.00 in January at the Hispanic Games. Like most teams entering this event, they'll have some tired legs, but plenty of talent. We could probably expect an appearance from Josh Hoey as they look to add crucial team points to close out the meet.
Glen Mills ran a strong race at Ocean Breeze, where they took second in a PA#2 3:23.45. Last year, Glen Mills took fifth in the 4x4, but they have the talent to improve upon that this time around. The defending state champs from Abington will be in the mix, gunning for a repeat performance.
Council Rock South may be somewhat of a sleeper in this field, but they have some speed. They won the second fastest section of the 4x4 at last week's MOCs and finished second overall to Abington. They have a flat-track best of 3:26 and will be a contender for sure.
Imhotep, Pennridge, Central Bucks East, North Allegheny, and the Haverford School will all be looking for high finishes and medals on Saturday in the 4x400.
