INTERVIEW: Noah Affolder talks after his state record 2 mile

Carlisle's Noah Affolder had a big weekend at The Armory. The senior started his meet off by anchoring his Carlisle team to the win and a national record in the distance medley relay. On Sunday, he came back to take second in a thrilling 2 mile.

Affolder and D.J. Principe, a 4-flat miler from Rhode Island, exchanged the lead throughout most of the race. On the final lap, Brodey Hasty from Tennessee was able to outkick Principe and Affolder.

Affolder still held on to run a new Pennsylvania state record time of 8:46.08. That breaks Max Kaulbach of Germantown Friends' 2008 time of 9:02.65. He also ran a new PA state record in the 3000 meters en route to his 2 mile. Affolder clocked an 8:16.57 to break Craig Miller's 2006 time of 8:22.65.

Neshaminy's Rusty Kujdych dropped a quick time to finish eighth overall in 9:11.54. He split a 8:36.12 3000 meters en route to his 2 mile.
