After a big indoor season, Penn Wood's Terri Turner wasting not time making a big statement outdoors.

Turner, a Columbia recruit, won the 800 meters at the Pennsylvania Track Classic at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School on Saturday. She went 2:11.52 for the win, setting the early-season state leader in the event. Turner was coming off a strong winter, which saw the senior win the indoor 800 meter state crown in a quick 2:08.58. She also anchored Penn Wood's state meet record-breaking 4x400 meter relay.

Turner was pushed along on Saturday by Cardinal O'Hara's Christine Mancini, who took the lead from Turner heading into the backstretch. But Turner took the lead back shortly thereafter and kicked it in for the win. Mancini, a sophomore, still finished second in 2:12.82.

Turner returned later to supply an anchor leg on Penn Wood's winning 4x400 meter relay, which ran a PA#1 of 3:50.79.
