PTXC Weekend Wrap (Week 3)

Bojangles Classic

Jordan Geist of Knoch and Evan Blaire of Hickory were the lone PA athletes that went south for this weekend's Bojangles Classic, but both pulled out some top notch performances.

Geist won both the shot put and the discus. On Friday, as part of "Friday Night Thunder," Geist took down Reese Hoffa's long-standing meet record with a throw of 74-10.5, which breaks his own Pennsylvania state record. In a tremendous atmosphere, where the shot took centerstage, Geist shined.

MileSplit spoke with Geist after the shot put:

Blaire had a strong series as well, just missing Hoffa's old record. Blaire took third in the loaded competition with a throw of 63-2, which puts him at PA#2 on the season.

Geist followed that up with a win in the discus the next day. The senior threw 189-4 for the win, just off his PA#1 from the previous week. Blaire took third with a throw of 172-8.
