Yasmin Brooks Dominates Hurdles At Pan-Ram

Susquehanna Township's Yasmin Brooks got her final high school season off to a very good start on Saturday at her first invitational of the season--the Pan-Ram Invitational at Central Dauphin.

Brooks, a TCU commit, won a pair of hurdle events, took third in the long jump, and supplied a lead-off leg to her team's winning 4x100 meter relay. All in a days' work. Brooks' 14.00 in the 100 meter hurdles is good enough for a PA#2 behind just co-state record holder Chanel Brissett of Cheltenham. It also broke Olympia Hyleas Fountain's 2000 meet record.

Brooks then returned later in the day for the 300 meter hurdles, an event where she's the defending PIAA Class AAA state champion. She also took third in a very competitive long jump competition. Watch Brooks' win in the 300 hurdles below.

It's just the start of a big 2017, in which Brooks has some big goals. The first is to defend her own state title in the 300 meter hurdles. We spoke with her after her invitational opener. Check out the interview below as well as other links from Pan-Ram:
