AA Boys' 300m Hurdles Preview
After a senior-laden final at states last year, plenty of newcomers are ready to show they can contend for a state title. But a pair of juniors have some experience in the finals last year and they'll be looking to move up to gold this season.
McConnellsburg's Josh Booth won the District 5 title in 39.43 for a AA leader this past week. He's running stronger than last year where he took fifth in the state and he looks to be the favorite headed into states. Camp Hill's Zack Kuntz was seventh last season in the final and the D3 champ will look to move his way up the podium.
Riverside's Calvin Wetzel won a deep WPIAL-AA race, barely edging out Derry Area's Shawn Broadway for the title. Both went sub-40 and should certainly be able to contend up front at the state meet. District 9 champ Jared Kespelher of Redbank Valley also has a sub-40 to his name this season.
Others to watch for include Western Wayne's Ryan Atcavage, Titusville's Brady Corklin, Penn Cambria's Kamryn Stoy, and Riverside's Jeremy Spicher in this fairly open field.
