AA Boys' 200m Preview
After a rare false start from reigning state champion Austin Kratz of Dock, the battle for AA supremacy in the 200 meters became much more wide open. Without Kratz in the fold, who should we look to as the top threat here?
It looks to be Kennedy Catholic's Channing Phillips, who is in the midst of a breakthrough senior season. He's been racking up quick times all season and he enters as the top seed with a very fast 21.39 at the District 10 Championships. He just missed the finals last year, but he could be looked to as the favorite this time around.
Hill-Freedman's Armonte Paulk will be one to watch, though. Paulk, a junior, raced to the win at the District 12 Champs despite a headwind. After taking third in this final last year, does he have it in him to move up to the top spot this year?
Hickory's Dozie Ezi-Ashi was second to Phillips at D10, but he'll look to reverse his fortune at Ship. Springfield-Montco's Eric Westray, Clarion Area's Brendan Zerfoss, Apollo-Ridge's Dillon Butz-Retzer, and Aliquippa's Antwan Brooks could all factor into this open field.
