Interview: Savannah Shaw Wins At Red, White & Blue

In arguably the week's biggest surprise, Upper Saint Clair's Savannah Shaw took the win in the girls' AAA race at the Red, White & Blue Classic in Pittsburgh.

On the new-look course at Schenley Oval, Shaw took down North Allegheny's Clara Savchik, who entered the week at PA#1. The senior ran 17:58 on the course to grab the win. Last year, she was second to Oakland Catholic's Lauren Finikiotis, but she moved up to take the win on Saturday.

Shaw told us in a preseason Q&A that she was looking forward to the Red, White & Blue Classic and she delivered a memorable performance. Time will tell what's next for Shaw, but she's off to a good of a start as she could hope for.
