Pennsylvania XC Week 3 Meets On Tap

Bradford Invitational - Meet Preview

The action heats up in District 9 this weekend. We should get some exciting races on both the girls and boys sides.

In the girls' race, D9-AA rivals Saint Marys Area and Bradford will matchup in the team race. Saint Marys started its season off well at McDowell taking second place behind Oakland Catholic. Amanda Foster ran a great race to take the overall win and she'll look to keep it rolling into Saturday.

Class A's Northern Potter will be worth watching for. They'll be led by Danielle Perry and Amanda Ford. Cowanesque Valley's Jules Jones and Karns City's Rebecca Pennington will also look to be in the mix. Keep an eye on Elk County Catholic's Chelsea Hunt, a transfer from Kane Area, who should challenge for the win.

The Elk Country Catholic boys had a strong start to its season at Red, White and Blue over the weekend. Ben Hoffman led the team with a fourth place finish and Logan Hoffman and Isaac Wortman ran well, too, for ECC. The team placed second in the A/AA race. They rolled to the win at this meet last season, scoring just 21 points.

The Bradford boys will look to defend their home turf. Senior Logan Caruso will lead the way for the host squad. From Smethport Area, Darian Gregory and Christian Tanner should be individuals that will compete for spots inside the top five. Coudersport freshman Tristan Amell, who took fourth at Lock Haven a few weeks ago is also entered and worth watching for.
