Cochranton Cardinal Invitational - Meet Recap

The wild "savage deer" will grab many headlines from Cochranton on Saturday, but there was plenty of other great action on the course.

Lakeview's Claire Oliver continued her terrific sophomore campaign in XC. After knocking on the doorstep of a few wins, she took home first on Saturday, running 19:37 for the win over Kennedy Catholic's Ellie Wanner, who clocked in at 19:40.

Lakeview earned the team title in the girls' race, scoring 67 points. Titusville was second with 81 points, while Union City took third with 91 points.

In the boys' race, Noah Bernarding picked up his first career invitational win, and it came on his home course. Bernarding, a sophomore, ran a PR of 16:29 for the victory. Cochranton also earned the team win, dominating the field with 56 points, 61 points better than second place Cambridge Springs. Cochranton is proving to be one of the top 1A squad to watch for out of District 10.

Lakeview's Zachary Tingley was second in 16:38 and Cochranton's Jac Cokley took third in 16:51.
