-By Abby Huber

On the girls' side of the meet, Chambersburg's Abby Yourkavitch continued her successful senior season by winning the meet on Saturday at Gettysburg. Yourkavitch clocked an 18:26 to win over Hershey's Andrea Demko.

The PA#7 Hershey squad dominated. Coming in third overall was junior Faith Mark, followed by sophomores Katie Jones and Olivia Wilson who came in 18th and 19th overall. The team scored 66 points to win the team title proving they will be a force to be reckoned with at the District 3 championships. Chambersburg girls were second as a team.

If you take a glance at AA individual performances, Boiling SpringsElaina Clancy had a stellar race, placing eighth overall running a new 5K PR of 19:28 this weekend.

In the team rankings, there were some Maryland and Virginia teams that placed well, but Northern girls held their own placing sixth overall. They were the top AA team even without their star Marlee Starliper. Marlee's sister Morgan Starliper led the Polar Bear's placing 22nd overall.

On the boy's side, John Handley's John Delaney came up from Virginia. Preston (WV)'s Cole Friend was second in 16:10.

The top Pennsylvania runner was Chayce Macknair of Mifflin County who was third overall in 16:20.30. His teammate Brayden Harris was sixth overall as a freshman running 16:24.70.

The Cumberland Valley boys won as a team led by senior Andrew Brown who was eighth overall individually. The CV Eagles only beat Chambersburg by one point in the team scoring. As the postseason approaches, it will be fairly open as to who gets the District 3 team bids for states.
