Pennsylvania XC Week 7 Meets On Tap

Rocky Grove Invitational - Meet Preview

GIRLS PREVIEW

In the girls' race, some strong District 9 talent will square off with District 10 talent. Saint Marys Area brings in the individual favorite in Amanda Foster, who has been close to unstoppable this season. She'll go for invite win No. 4 on Saturday.

Her best challenge will come from Lakeview's Claire Oliver. The sophomore is coming off a win at Cochranton a few weeks ago and will look to ride that momentum into Saturday's race. Conneaut's Meaera Shannon, Girard's Cassie Carr, Union City's Abby Anaya, and Oil City's Olivia Mumford are among the other individuals to watch for on Saturday in this meet.

Saint Marys Area looks to be the team to beat in this race, but Lakeview, a state hopeful out of D10-1A and Titusville and Oil City, a pair of D10-AA state hopefuls, will be looking to take the victory.

BOYS PREVIEW

The individual race here is between a pair of boys who are more than a little familiar with each other. Cochranton's Noah Bernarding and Lakeview's Zachary Tingley will go head-to-head for the sixth time this season alone. Tingley holds a 3-2 advantage over Bernarding in the five times they've met this season, but most recently, Bernarding took the win over Tingley at Cochranton.

Needless to say, this dual between D10-1A rivals is one to watch for on Saturday. Cochranton's Jac Cokley and Stephen Clulow, Franklin Area's Jacob Eshelman, and Cambridge Springs' Zack Marazza are among the other individuals to look for.

Cochranton, fresh off a big win at its home invitational, will be the strong team favorites on Saturday. Cambridge Springs, Union City Area, and Rocky Grove will look to close the gap to the favorites.
