5 Things To Watch For During Leagues Week

First State Tickets To Be Punched

While most of the district meets will happen next week, we will get our first district championship---PIAA District 8---on Saturday, October 21.

Taylor Allderdice is heavily favored to runaway with both the boys' and girls' titles. Winning District 8 (also known as the Pittsburgh City League) guarantees a team state qualifying spot. There are also five individual qualifying spots for those not on a qualifying team up for grabs.

The boys' race will come down to two teammates---Tavonne Davis and Ethan Hermann, who are both in the midst of very strong seasons. Davis most recently took third at the Manhattan Invitational. He was also the 2015 D8 champ. On the girls' side, Allderdice's Evelyn Tipper is favored to take the individual title.
