When: Saturday, December 9
Where: Ursinus College (Collegeville, PA)
Why: The indoor track and field season in Pennsylvania kicked off in a big way. At last year's edition, the state and nation (if they didn't already know his name) was introduced to Terrance Laird of Coatesville, when he dropped a 21.75 (watch above!) flat-track 200 meter time. Now at Penn State, Laird captivated fans all season long. He took home state titles in the 200 meters both at indoor states, as well as outdoor states, and pushed his name near the top of the all-time state lists.
Plenty of teams head to Collegeville to open up their seasons nice and early, so we can expect a hefty helping of early-season state leaders, and some might even stick for a while. Plus, after about six months of no high school track, we're just excited to see some action again!
