Kristopher Moore produced a special marker on Saturday at the Holiday Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, etching his name in the all-time December ranks with record-setting 400m dash.
The Clinton (MS) High senior went 47.89 seconds inside the CrossPlex Facility to score the fastest overall time indoors -- according to our records -- in December, passing the previous best of 49.04 at the Holiday Invitational, set last by Quincy Smith in 2012.
In doing so, Moore also carried along the second-fastest performance all-time, with Okheme Moore finishing just hundredths of a second behind him in 48.02 seconds.
Kristopher Moore was the first athlete to slip under 48 seconds in December since we began tracking indoor marks on MileSplit.
Will that be the last we see of Moore?
A year ago the sprinter only performed in two indoor meets, though in 2017-2018 he's already run in back-to-back weeks.
Hopefully we'll see more of the Mississippi veteran along the indoor season. Last May he was the runner-up finisher at the Mississippi state championships in the 200m (21.38) and the 400m (48.32).
His performance on Saturday was just the second time he's broken 48 seconds in his career.
