Gabrielle Wilkinson (Friends' Central) - 800 Meters & Mile
After injuries shut down most of her junior year indoor campaign, Wilkinson has returned to the track on fire to start her senior season.
The University of Florida recruit opened up strong at Ursinus, then put down a pair of strong performances at The Armory. Wilkinson took down a solid field to win the mile at the AT&T Hall Of Fame Coaches Invitational in a time of 4:56.15, a US#3. A few weeks later, she returned to the Armory and ran 2:10.81, pulling away from another good field to win the 800 meters in a new US#1.
Wilkinson will turn her attention to the VA Showcase this month and then the Millrose Games in February. After that, it's on to states and nationals, where she'll be a serious contender to challenge some all-time marks.
