Triple Jumpers Took Centerstage As Ferguson Pulled Out Dramatic Victory

One of the premiere events at last week's PTFCA Indoor State Championships was the boys' triple jump. In the end, the PA#1 and pre-meet favorite, Treyvon Ferguson of Milton Hershey pulled out the win.

But it didn't come without plenty of drama and excitement.

Once the finals came, the competition really started heating up. Ferguson, along with Harrisburg's Jakari Lomax and Imhotep's Akeem Cooper each put down 48 foot jumps on their first attempts in the finals. Lomax's 48-07 led the way, but the others were knocking on the doorstep.

Ferguson put down jumps of 48-06 and 48-05, setting the stage for one final attempt at the lead. He pulled it out in a big way. Ferguson jumped 48-10, a new indoor PR and enough to take the win by just three inches.

The energy in the crowd matched the competition on the runway. The trio got the crowd into creating an unforgettable atmosphere for one of the indoor state meet's highlights.
