18 Things To Look For During The VA Outdoor Track Season #14

It is no secret that Loudoun Valley is a distance powerhouse nor is it a secret that they have some strong relays. They set the national record in the 4xMile indoors (17:01) and ran the second fastest time ever in the 4x800 (7:39.30). This outdoor season though we are most looking forward to what they can run in all three distance relays.

Right now they have a tough choice ahead of them. They will have a great opportunity to run a solid DMR or 4x800 in late April. The issue though for them is which one is more important to them record wise.

Come outdoor nationals they obviously could go for the 4xMile record and one of the other records as well but chasing all three in a weekend is nearly impossible. That of course adds a layer of excitement for not only what they will run but also figuring out when. The strategy that will go into the season will be intense.

Lastly, we know from the past that the Hunters don't like to put on too much speed until later in the year. If they have kept that same strategy of not tapering too much then we could expect a huge improvement in the 4x800m relay as well.

Simply put, there is so many directions this could go that we cannot list them all and that is why they rank as one of the most anticipating things this outdoor season.
