Team Breakdown: PIAA District 6 Girls

D6-AAA Girls - Team Breakdown

It's been well over a decade that the State College Area girls have been the class of District 6 Class AAA. It doesn't appear that anything will stand in its way again in 2018. The Little Lions, consistently one of the state's top programs, return five varsity runners from last year's district champion and fifth place state team.

Kileigh Kane showed she is one of the state's top individuals last season, taking second at districts and 12th at states. Along with Emma Simon and Elly Haushalter, State College brings three girls that placed inside the top five of D6-AAA. This team should also include Jordan Reed, who was a breakthrough freshman that ran 19:29 early last season, but didn't race after pre-states.

Ultimately, State College should roll through its district meet. After that, this squad will be on the hunt for its fourth top five state finish in four years.

Mifflin County was second last season and it returns six varsity girls from last year. Two girls -- Lauren Kuykendall and Joy Galbraith -- were both state qualifiers last season.
