Team Breakdown: PIAA District 4 Boys

D4-AA Boys - Team Breakdown

A year ago, a senior-heavy Loyalsock Township got the job done and won the District 4 Class AA title by five points over Milton Area. Four seniors from that team have graduated, including Quinn Serfass, but Loyalsock will look to retool and contend for a top two spot again this season.

Milton Area earned a trip to states last season with its second place finish, but it could be the team to beat this fall. Tyler Leeser graduated, but Milton returns five boys from last year's team, led by Kellan Guinn-Bailey, who placed fourth in the district last year. Tanner Walter, who was tenth, is also back.

Warrior Run just missed out on the top two last year, taking third place, just six points behind Milton. Damein Moser and Addison Magyar are back to lead the way for this squad that loses two varsity seniors from last year. Look for a motivated Warrior Run squad to make a run at that top two.

A few other teams capable of making a push towards a states berth are Lewisburg Area, Danville Area, and Shikellamy. Lewisburg was fifth last year, and will lose one of its top runners from last year -- Jason Stanko -- but this young team, led by Calvin Bailey (a state qualifier) could make some noise in D4. Danville, sixth in 2017, brings back its full varsity roster, and will be looking to make some moves in the field. John Maize is a returning state qualifier from a year ago. Shikellamy returns all but one from varsity, and Doug Hallman will look to lead this team to a high finish.
