Individuals Breakdown: District 9 Girls

D9-AA Girls- Individuals Breakdown

Two terrific District 9 talents -- Amanda Foster and Rebecca Pennington -- have both graduated, meaning it's time for a new top runner in D9-AA this fall. Saint Marys Area has a fleet of contenders, but a number of other girls could emerge this season.

Saint Marys took six of the top eight spots at the district meet last year. Foster is gone this year, and so is the runner-up Pennington of Karns City. Megan Quesenberry is the top returner based on districts finish from last year, taking third. Amber Schauer (fourth), Tessa Grotzinger (fifth), Lucy Anthony (sixth), and Brianna Grotzinger are also back for Saint Marys.

The only returner to break up that Saint Marys pack last year was Abby LaBorde of Clearfield Area. LaBorde is also the top D9-AA returner from the state meet last year where she ran to a 74th place finish. She'll look to take home the top spot int he district this time around.

Bradford's Hannah Lary and Bethany Bednez and Punxsutawney Area's Kate Horner are the other returning state qualifiers from last year in D9-AA.
