North Allegheny Makes Big Statement At Red, White & Blue


RWB Boys' AAA Race - Recap

Zach Kinne's first invitational in a North Allegheny was a big one as the senior traversed the rain and mud to win the AAA race in 15:33, the fastest 5K so far this season in PA. This was Kinne's PA debut, after transferring from Illinois over the summer. His NA teammate Daniel McGoey wasn't far behind, placing second in 15:41, a 1-2 finish for the Tigers. North Allegheny took home the team title, winning round one of the battle of the WPIAL powers.

NA scored 73 points for the win with Kinne and McGoey accounting for just 3 points. Only 22 seconds separated NA's third and sixth runner. Seneca Valley, behind a very strong effort from its top three placed second with 104 points. Sam Owori led the Raiders at sixth in 16:14, while Connor Volk-Klos was eighth and Seth Ketler was ninth.

Hilliard Davidson from Ohio was third in the team standing with 109 points, paced by Conner Johanssen's fifth place finish. Mount Lebanon was fourth as a team, scoring 120 points, with Patrick Anderson's fourth place individual finish leading the way.

Christian Fitch of Fox Chapel Area had a very solid start to his season, taking third in 15:51, just ahead of Anderson. Mars Area's Zachary Leachman was seventh in 16:17, starting his season off well.
