The results of the Week 6 Performer of the Week poll in PA are here!

Thanks to all who voted! Congratulations to this week's winners, Avery Lewis of Friends' Central and Carson McCoy of Deer Lakes!

Here's more on the winners, along with the poll results below.

Girls' Performer of the Week: Avery Lewis (Friends' Central)

It was a strong day at the office for Lewis at last Friday's DVGTCA Meet #5 at Alvernia University. The versatile sophomore started her evening winning the 60m dash against a solid field in a time of 7.65. Then she returned to take the win in the long jump, setting a new PA No. 1 on the season with a leap of 18-9.5.

With no indoor state meet last year, Lewis never got the opportunity to see how many state golds she could chase. There will be a state meet this year, and it will be fun to see just what the sophomore can do on the big stage.

Boys' Performer of the Week: Carson McCoy (Deer Lakes)

McCoy has made his presence known on the indoor scene with a big performance at the Youngstown State High School Meet last weekend across state lines in Ohio. The senior clocked a PA No. 2 and US no, 7 time in the 800 meters of 1:54.49 to take second in his race. Nick Plant of Ohio won the race in a US No. 2 time of 1:53.10.

It was a strong start to the track season for McCoy, who is coming off a big spring on the track, which saw him win the PIAA Class AA state title in the 1600 meters in a time of 4:16.48. Now a senior, he's got more big things on his mind. He's proven his versatility in the events, opening up with a great time in the 800.
