VMI's Felix Kitur is readying for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, to be held next week in Eugene, Ore. at historic Hayward Field. Kitur qualified for these Championships with an impressive run at the NCAA East Region Preliminaries, held in late May in Greensboro, N.C. There, he won his opening heat before finishing second in his final race, earning one of the automatic bids to Eugene in the face of tough competition. That competition included Casimir Loxsom of Penn State, the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Track Athlete of the Year, and Loxsom's teammate Ryan Foster, who was third at this year's NCAA Indoor Championships.

Kitur will open his second career NCAA Championship appearance Wednesday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time, with the finals of the 800-meters set for Friday evening at 8:40 EST. The Friday race will be televised live on CBS College Sports, while Wednesday's race can be viewed free of charge at ncaa.com.
