A week after bettering the Public League course record by 13 seconds, Lavaughn Jones of Engineering & Science (E&S) was back at Belmont Plateau on a mission - set a new standard. This time she lowered the mark another 14 seconds, to 19:14, leading her team to a 27-51 win over Central in the 10/27 Philadelphia Public League Championships at Belmont Pleteau. In the boys race, E&S was a two-point victor over Central behind the 16:23 of Trevon Rainford. The mark tied the Public League record.
