The Lions scored in three different field events as the Albright College men's indoor track & field team opened its 2011-12 season on Saturday at Ursinus, placing 9th of 13 teams in the Division III standings.
Dane Canonico was third overall in the shot put, with a throw of 13.69m.
Clark Runciman matched that place in the pole vault (3.95m).
Brad Ohlinger placed seventh in the long jump, while also adding a 12th-place performance in the triple jump.
Senior
George Cook was Albright's best finisher on the track, taking 3rd in the 5000m, in 16:20.38.
Jermaine Grey scored with a 7th place finish in the 60m hurdles (9.53). Both marks were school records, with Cook bettering his own time in the 5k.
In the sprints,
Sean Potter and
Brian Spells were ninth and 16th, respectively, in the 60m. Potter's 7.32 was a school record at the new distance. The pair also placed 15th and 21st in the 200m.
The Lions are off until after winter break, with their next meet coming on January 12-13 at Kutztown.
