Over the weekend, two Methacton freshmen competed in the USA Track and Field Regional Championships against athletes in Pa,. N.J., Del., N.Y. and Md. at the University of Deleware.

Jenny Martin and Nicolette Serratore, competing in their first heptathlon, finished first and second, respectively and qualified for the USA Track and Field National Championships.

Martin was the overall winner with a score of 4181 points, followed by Serratore with 3857 points. The third place finisher had 3671 points. In the seven-event, two-day competition, Martin placed first in the 100M hurdles, long jump and javelin. Serratore won the 800M and finished second in the 100M hurdles, shot put and long jump.
