Through the MileSplit race management program RaceTab (which is now free), we are able to use certain types of excel files to import ALL performances from a meet and add them to the PA and national rankings.

All the performances from Tuesday's DVGTCA meet are in the rankings. We need results from the PCL meet Wednesday. And the DVGTCA meet set for Friday the 19th was cancelled due to the weather.

Upper Darby, Upper Dublin  and Penn Hills are looking for a throws coaches for the 2009 outdoor track season. Need someone who is not only knowledgeable of all the throws but dedicated and brings enthusiasm to the program. And Villa Maria Academy in Malvern is looking for part-time jumps or sprints coach.

Latrobe's Natalie Bower will be joining the Penn State Nittany Lions in 2009 to run cross country and track, where she will be joined by Emmaus' Lindsay Graybill. Norwin's Leslie Kovach will compete for the University of Pennsylvania.

The Hill School Invitational was held Wed at Ursinus... and Ben Furcht of Lower Merion finished 31st in the Foot Locker Nationals, running 16:07. Former LaSalle College HS runner Phil Wood was 30th, three seconds ahead of Furcht.

Shippensburg freshman, and NCAA Division II runner-up and all-American Neely Spence tells PennTrackXC that she has decided to remain at Shippensburg for the remainder of her collegiate career.

Senior Wesley Lavong and junior Carlton Lavong opened up with big marks. Wesley threw the shot 58-10, a PR indoor or out; while Carlton leapt 47-07.50, an indoor PR and his 2nd best career jump. Foot Locker-bound Ben Furch ran 8:56.0 solo to capture the 3000. North Allegheny finished 12th in the US at NXN.

Fayetteville-Manlius girls win 3rd straight national title with 66 points. Chelsey Sveinsson (Texas) wins individual title. Reed Connor (The Woodlands, TX) wins individual title. North Spokane, WA boys win national title.

North Allegheny has a team compression of 2:57. But not in the way you think.

The Emmaus girls came into the season with two goals in mind. To repeat as state champions in AAA, and to improve on their 5th place finish at the Nike Cross Northeast regionals and earn a trip to Portland for the NXN championships.

Even in the one bright spots for Pennsylvania runners at this year's Foot Locker Northeast Regional there was some disappointment. And high expectations met reality as other PA runners experienced set-backs.

Ben Furcht and Neal Berman ran stride-for-stride with each other in training, in meets, and very nearly, to a berth in Foot Locker Nationals in San Diego on December 13th. But one is going and one is staying home after finishing 10th and 11th at the Northeast Regonal.

If cold weather bothers Solomon Haile, it didn't appear to affect him yesterday in New York City and should bode well for his chances in San Diego.

All that separated three close friends from finishing 1-2-3 in the Footlocker Northeast Regional meet was a rookie barely old enough to drive.
