On the CV school website they have posted an opening for head coach for boys and girls cross country for next year.

I'm at the Dickinson Indoor invitational on Saturday and they are running the men's 600. I'm expecting Aaron Reynolds of Messiah to do real well because he has speed for 400-800, but then I see this other Messiah guy pull ahead and win it by a good margin. Turns out Eric Witmer of McCaskey fame is at Messiah this year. He won the race. Here's a link:

    Taylor Ludman won the 3,000.

A number of other LL graduates ran.

A bit of non-running news: We heard recently that Lindsey Shertzer is engaged to Nick Mousetis.

For the newcomers, Lindsey was a Lancaster Mennonite student who was the best middle distance girl in LL history until Kayleigh Perry came along. I believe she was a state champ in track.

I don't know much about Nick's high school running career, but he was a very good runner, and continues to run in road races. He recently finished in the top 40 in the Philadelphia marathon.

    Congratulations to them!

I saw on the news that Zachary Millhouse of Donegal who ran track for them was killed in a car accident.

The CV boys 4 X 4 went in the high 3:20's, maybe 3:28, which is great for this early.
Kyle Long was over 190 in the discus.
Hempfield had a girl run 57 something for the 400.
CV girls 4 X 100 team came back from a big gap to win... not sure about time.
Good early season time in both 1600 races.
Robbie Cardinia did 39 something in the 300 hurdles.

There were a lot of good performances on both sides. Wish I knew the girl's score, but I don't.

Funny.... Hempfield has a stadium announcer who gives results, but he did not announce the final scores.

Hard to believe that it has been 4 years since Vince McNally faced off against Mark Dennin at the Hempfield Black Knight Invitational in the 3200. Dennin was injured but it was great to have him there. McNally ran 9:05, which would have been in the ballpark to win states later that year.

Kirsten Bass took the 100 meter hurdles over Witmer from Ephrata tonight in about 14.9. Witmer came back and blew everybody away in the 300 hurdles in around 44 seconds.

14.9 is awesome, and I believe I read in the paper 44.5, which is fastest in the state so far! And for clarification, who is Smith from Garden Spot that ran 11:40.4?

@runner031 According to Bobtrump.com they think it could be a recording/newspaper error. Only Smith on the GS squad is a boy, I believe. That has happened a couple times this year in the newspaper. Regardless, the times being put up by the L-L girls this early in the season are amazing. Great fun for all us spectators...:)

Austin Smith is a GS boy runner. I've watched a couple GS middle school races the last couple weeks. GS has a MS girl running 5:44 mile and 2:42 half. She hasn't been challenged yet! Her first race she ran 6 flat, then 5:54 last week. I was told she uncorked a 5:44 yesterday. Where does that put her in HS in the league?

She would be competitive in most dual meets. Do you know about Bobtrump.com? He has his "Honor Roll" that lists the best times of the season.

How about the showing of LLL boys and girls at Shippensburg and elsewhere this weekend. 12 gold at Shipp, including a meet record.
Props to the AC boys pulling out relay victories on the last leg of the 4x4 and 4x8. AC's 4x8 time is the best 2A in PA so far. Keep up the good work everyone.
