Carlisle Middle School Cross Country Course. The course is clearly marked with permanent signs throughout. The course is entirely mowed grass and offers a mixture of flat and hill running. The start will offer open, unobstructed running for several hundred meters with excellent mobility throughout the entire course. The course is minimally affected by even the most adverse weather conditions. It provides an excellent surface for spikes or flats. It is also an excellent spectator course and offers easy race visibility for nearly the entire race. The Travis Trail in Carlisle is one of the most widely recognized courses on the East Coast of the United States. Each year the High School Invitational draws teams from far and wide, this past year 7 states sent teams, several of them nationally ranked.
