TheJohnsonburg Track Boosters are sponsoring the31th Annual Junior High Track Invitational for 7th and 8th gradestudents.The meet will be held atthe Johnsonburg Area High School track (an all-weathertrack surface) on Saturday, April 28, 2018 beginning at 10 a.m.A coaches meeting will be held at 9:15a.m.1/8" spikes are permitted for theinvitational.Please RSVP to Dan Carnovale, Jr. High TrackCoach before 4/23/18.
The Invitational welcomes one student or one hundred students from each school.All participants must beaccompanied by a coach, teacher, parent or some other responsible adult.A concession stand will be open throughout the day.Invitational t-shirts will also be available to purchase.
Eachathlete may compete in four events.Fourentries per event are permitted from one team/school.Two relays may be entered (one for scoringand one for exhibition).The followingevents will be offered:

100 M Dash
1600 M Run
400 mnM Dash
400 M Relay
800 M Run
200 M Dash
3200M Run
1600 M Relay
High JumpTriple JumpLong Jump
Shot Put (6lbs / 8 lbs, 13 oz)
Discus (1 kg for each)
Pole Vault
100 M Hurdles/110 M Hurdles m(33"/36")
300 M mHurdles (30"/33")
For safety reasons,we will NOT be conducting the javelin throw at this invitational.
We oftenhave more than 6 preliminary heats for the events with finals so we willadvance 6 athletes on time only, NOT according to places in heats.We will have preliminaries in the 100 M and100/110 M hurdles (top 6 times advance).PIAA officials will run the meet and enforce all rules, includingsportsmanship.Rules will be applied forfairness for all athletes.
Boys andgirls 1st place team trophies will be presented as well as boys andgirls track and field MVP plaques. T-shirts will be given to 1stplace winners and ribbons will be given up to sixth place in each event.
Theregistration fee for each athlete competing is $4.The team fee (over 25 athletes) for girls is$100 and boys is $100.Checks should bemade payable to Johnsonburg Track Boosters.Checks can be sent in advance to Dan Carnovale, Jr. High Track Coach,213 Summerfield Lane, Wilcox, PA15870 orgiven to the meet director before the start of the meet.Questions concerning the meet can be referredto Dan Carnovale, Jr. High Track Coach at (814) 594-5902, Ren Wenner, VarsityTrack Coach at (412) 414-1016 or Eric Poague, Meet Director (814)594-6645.
Noregistration forms will be sent.Allentries are to be made online.Deadlinefor entries is 4/24/17 at 10 p.m.On-line registrations will be handled at pa.milesplit.com/.Instructions on how to register your athletesare enclosed.
No additions (only deletions) can be madeon the day of the meet!
Coaches - please be sure to bringice packs to the meet with you for your athletes!!
This meet bringsapproximately 400 athletes to compete in the invitational, making it thelargest of its kind in Northwestern Pennsylvania.Come prepared - the meet will be held weather or not!Hope to seeyou on April 28th.
