Shaler Area’s Kylie Farrell hit a big PR in the high jump to lead Pennsylvania winners at Youngstown State. The senior soared to T-PA#4 with her 5-foot, 6-inch clearance, while Laurel Highlands’ Shelby Burns was next at 5-1.

Both 800 runs were tight, with West Allegheny’s Alexis O’Shea clocking a PA#5 2:15.94 to defeat Hampton’s Gina Alm and her PA#8 2:16.72. O’Shea came back to win the 3,200 in a PA#4 11:34.70.

For the boys, Dylin Wilhoite of Penn Hills moved to PA#8 with a 1:57.82 and the victory by 0.24 seconds.

Kane Area’s Nick Anderson won the boys’ pole vault at 13-6, while Gary Jackson of Baldwin won both boys’ horizontal jumps, reaching out to a PA#10 22-1.5 in the long jump and 43-4.5 in the triple jump.

Shaler Area’s Tori Soeder also was a double winner in the girls’ jumps, taking the long jump at 17-0.5 and the triple jump at 34-10.25.

Slippery Rock’s Emily Campbell won a competitive girls’ shot put, hitting 41-6.5 as five threw 37-9.25 or better.

Hickory’s Luke Lewis continued to dominate in the boys’ shot put, topping 60 feet once again as his best of 60-11.5 won by almost 7 feet.

Springdale’s Emily Lelis won the girls’ 60 hurdles in 8.86, while South Fayette’s Mitch Valko was second in the boys’ race in 8.14 behind the US#7 8.02 by Ohio’s Rameses Owens. Lauren Costa of West Allegheny won the girls’ 60 dash in 7.92 and was second in the 200 at 26.00.

Will Page of West Allegheny is now PA#4 after winning a competitive boys’ 400 in 50.62 as the top four were sub-52.

PCL Championships

 

Jordan Bryan of St Joe’s Prep became the first long jumper to break the 23 foot mark, winning the league title in the long jump with a mark of 23-1.25. Marquis Seamon of Father Judge cleared 6-5 to win the high jump and jumped 42-8.75 to win the triple jump. Brendan Bilotta of Lasalle won the mile (PA#3 4:21.28) and 3000 meter runs (9:12.99). Eric Jones of Neumann Goretti won the 400 (51.72) and 200 meter dashes (22.85).

 

For the girls, Ariana Ruffin of Neumann Goretti won the 400 (59.33) and 200 meter dashes (26.31). Amanda Simone of Archbishop Ryan cleared 5-3 to win the high jump and won the triple jump with a mark of 34-6. Elizabeth Reid of Lansadale Catholic jumped 17-8.50 to win the long jump. Cardinal O’Hara came away with the boys and girls team titles.
