PTXC Performers of the Week: Week 4

Performers of the Week for September 20

Athlete

Girls

This week’s honor was a tough one to call, but Madeleine Davison of North Allegheny has become the first multiple time winner of the award this season. This time around, Davison stormed through the state meet course, leading the race wire to wire to win the PIAA Foundation Gold race with a time of 18:18. Her previous best was 19:00 at this meet last season. The win marks her 2nd win of the season and it is the 4th fastest time ever record on the current layout.

Boys

The boys made it difficult to select a winner for this award, but this week’s winning used all his power to shoot himself into state title contention. Paul Power of Spring Ford had the break through race of his career on Saturday at Foundation. The senior defeated a solid field of competitors to come away with the gold medal with a time of 15:50, the 4th fastest boys’ time on the state course. The time is the 2nd fastest of his career and only the 2nd time he’s broken the 16 minute mark.

The District 10 champions placed five in the top 20 overall, including gold medalist Claire Brown, and the all broke the 21 minute mark, separated by 80 seconds. Their score of 56 points was 75 points better than the closest challenger.

The District 6 squad scored 43 points and won the meet by a whopping 125 points.
