How did PA perform in the national rankings? Our final indoor look

The 2015 was very memorable. State records, close finishes, and big performances on the biggest stages.

But how did the PA athletes and teams do in the national rankings? With the season completed, let's look at how our boys and girls did in the national rankings.

Since the beginning of February, the boys and girls top five marks in the US went down a little bit. The girls have 8 marks in the US top five, with three top 3 marks: Sarah Walker of Germantown Friends in the 600, Ciara Leonard of Cheltenham in the 55 meter hurdles, and the Cheltenham 4x2.

The boys have 7 marks in the US top five with two US#1s, John Lewis in the 800 and Cheltenham's national championship 4x4. The boys also have three additional top three marks, including sophomore Jordan Geist of Knoch in the shot put, Elias Graca in the 800, and Sam Ritz of Germantown Academy in the mile.

For US places 6-10, the girls had multiple places in those rankings in four events: the 1600, the mile, the 3000, and the high jump. Madeleine Davison of North Allegheny (3000) and Leonard (60H) finished the season at the US#6 position.

The boys had ten performances between places 6 and 10 in the country in ten different events. Ritz in the 1000 and the Penn Wood 4x4 are ranked US#6.

Places 11-20 are where PA made the biggest impact on the national rankings this season. The boys produced 19 performances in those places, with the 3000 meter run accounting for 4 of those marks. The 55 meter dash and the 4x8 also have multiple PA representation. Mason Weh of Upper Darby is US#11 at 55 meter hurdles, the highest rankings for PA boys in this section of the national rankings.

The girls made a huge impact in the US 11-20 places, producing 32 performances, with ten events holding multiple PA athletes. The girls shot put has three performances in the 11-20 places, the most from any event. Six of the 29 marks hold US#11 positions: Sierra Brabham-Lawrence of Harrisburg in the triple jump, Emily Stauffer of Cocalico in the shot put, Hannah Molloy of Pennsbiry in the 3000, Gabrielle Wilkinson of Friends Central in the 1000, and Brooklynn Broadwater of Springside Chestnut Hill in the 600.

The full break down is below. Congratulations PA on an excellent season! Good luck in the spring!
