Boys' 60-meter dash

Making finals is no given: The boys' 60 is DEEP
There's plenty of depth all across the board in this state
meet, so it's hard to pick a deepest
events, but there's a good chance it could be the boys' 60 dash. Four boys enter with sub-7 second
times, and plenty are right on the cusp.
Imhotep's Ade Jones-Roundtree was already having a great indoor season, and then on the big stage at Millrose, the junior dropped a huge 6.40 55 meters to nearly steal the win. By the PTFCA's conversions, Jones-Roundtree overtakes GAR's Anthony Maurent for the top seed in the event.

Maurent, on the other hand, scratched at Millrose. If Maurent is healthy and ready to roll on Sunday, it will certainly be a great race. Maurent is one of three returning medalists in the event. The there's Meadville's Journey Brown. Brown won big at the TSTCA Champs in Edniboro on Saturday, running a 6.91 (a time that's not reflected in his seed). That was a major PR for the junior and he'll be a major factor on Sunday.
LaSalle's Charles Headen appears ready to go, having gone sub-7 three times this season. Headen was seventh a year ago and will look to transfer that experience into another high placing.
But Headen was third at the TFCAofGP Meet of Champs to Jeremy Jennings of Downingtown East and Keon Rantin of Glen Mills. Both Jennings and Rantin are in the field, surely gunning for a shot at the top spot. Imhotep's Kristian Marche is another Imhotep sprinter having fantastic season. Marche dipped under 7 seconds at the TFCAofGP Last Chance Meet and the sophomore is hungry for more this Sunday.
We can't forget about Jahvel Hemphill of Bloomsburg either. Hemphill was third last year as a sophomore, but we haven't seen too much of him in 2016. He's seeded 23rd, but don't let that fool you; he's a contender.
On Sunday, just making the finals really isn't a given for anyone in the field, and the little things will definitely have an impact on the medal placings.
