It won't be easy stopping South Williamsport's Katie Jones. The PA#1 and US#11 pole vaulter enters the state meet as the heavy favorite after an incredible junior season. Jones won the Penn Relays pole vault clearing 13 feet for the first time in her career and then two days later did even better and cleared 13-3 at Lock Haven. Since then, it's been hard for Jones to find good weather conditions to improve on that, but she's still on pace to shatter the PIAA meet record of 12-7.

Greensburg Central Catholic's Michelle Karabin is in the field. She's cleared a nice PR at last week's District 7 Championship for the win. She was third in the state a year ago.

Trinity's Megan Silva also recently PR'd after clearing 11-9 at Mid-Penns. She won District 3 with a vault of 11-7. The senior was fifth in 2015.

Central Columbia's Erika Thomas, Wilmington's Julia Strobel, and Towanda's Ally Tama are the other entries in the field that have cleared 11 feet or better.
